THE THORN COLLECTION
Often in my work, one thing begets another - with ideas, but also in materials. I like this physical passing on, a growing out, a carrying of the thread through previous incarnations. The collection of pieces in Thorn are just this. The thorns being what remain from the cutting of moss.
The beauty of bothersome things is a phrase that keeps coming into my mind. Pruning my roses last summer, without gloves, might have been the origin of this inspiration.
